Scientist, Antibody Engineering (Reference ID: SC_AE_01)

The Scientist, Antibody Engineering will be a well-organized and adaptable team player who will use multiple antibody discovery tools to discover novel therapeutics. This position will contribute to drug discovery activities with yeast display and FACS sorting, molecular biology, Next Gen Sequencing analysis, and functional characterization of antibodies.  A demonstrated ability to independently troubleshoot assays and experiments is essential. Experience in developing antibody clones against membrane proteins, such as GPCRs, is highly desirable.

Professional Responsibilities

  • Serve as a key contributor to discover antibodies directed against therapeutic targets
  • Plan and execute multiple yeast display selections
  • Optimize reagents and selection strategies for each target
  • Perform NGS sample preparation and data analysis
  • Organize data output from yeast library selection and screening
  • Maintain laboratory strains, library stocks and DNA inventories
  • Present reports regularly to team members
  • Maintain a detailed and accurate lab notebook

Position Requirements

  • Ph.D in Biochemistry, Biology or related discipline
  • A distinguished track record of publication and achievement
  • 1-3 years of experience in antibody engineering in an academic or industry setting
  • Experience with library display technologies, preferably yeast display
  • Hands-on experience with FACS sorting methods and strategies
  • Experience in library design and construction is highly desirable
  • Experience with antibody humanization or optimization is a plus
  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize work across multiple projects to meet goals and timelines
  • Desire to quickly learn new skills and adapt to new challenges
